Józef Skrzek, born in Michałkowice in Silesia, completed musical school in Katowice Acadamy of Music. Composer and multinstrumentalist, leader of SBB rock band (search, destroy and build) in the Seventies.
In the Eighties performed his own music playing the organ in Silesian churches, on Jasna Góra in Częstochowa, at Planetarium in Chorzów and Toruń. He also took part in Jazz Jambore in Warsaw, Sopot, Roshilde and Munchen.
His musical output consists of 44 records of his solo compositions as well as in association with other bands.
Józef Skrzek is the author of theatrical, ballet and film music of the following productions: “Hands up” by Jerzy Skolimowski, “Golem”, “War of the Worlds” by Piotr Szulkin, “Karłowicz” by Adam Hanuszkiewicz in Teatr Wielki in Łódź, “Medea” by Zygmunt Hubner in Warsaw Teatr powszechny and Andrzej Chrzanowski’s “Kaligula” in Teatr Dramatyczny in Warsaw.
In the early Nineties he carried on a long tour in the USA. His last accomplishment is called “Roe-deers’ Peace” made in cooperation with Lech Majewski.
